Hello! My name is Alizay Faisal, and I’m pursuing my MS in Finance at Lewis University, with graduation planned for Fall 2026. As an international student, choosing where to continue my education was one of the biggest decisions of my life. I wanted a program that would challenge me academically, help me grow professionally, and provide a supportive community where I could thrive—and I found that at Lewis.

Lewis University’s STEM-designated MS Finance program immediately stood out. In today’s data-driven financial world, that STEM focus is critical. I was also drawn to Lewis’s Lasallian values and mission, which truly resonate with me. Lewis offers a strong academic foundation where students can thrive, and as an international student, I have found the resources and guidance here to be exceptional.
My Experience at Lewis
My experience at Lewis has been incredibly rewarding. Personally, I’ve grown more confident in public speaking, networking, and collaborating with diverse groups. Professionally, the coursework has been rigorous, and I’ve been able to directly apply what I learn in class to both my internship and my assistantship.
I currently serve as a Graduate Assistant for the Office of International Student and Global Scholar Services (ISGSS), supporting students with advising, document processing, and engagement initiatives. I’m also the President of the International Student Association (ISA), where I’ve gained leadership and organizational skills while creating a welcoming environment for international students. On top of that, I’m working as a Billing/Eligibility Intern at Christian Brothers Services (CBS), where I handle data entry, verify enrollment records, run queries, and support special projects.
Looking Toward the Future
Long-term, I know this program is setting me up for a meaningful career in finance. The analytical skills, financial modeling techniques, and global perspectives I am gaining will be valuable in any setting.
More importantly, my time at Lewis has helped shape me into a more responsible individual, both academically and professionally. Working in the ISGSS office alongside dedicated professionals with inspirational leadership and emotional intelligence has inspired me to become more accountable, organized, and proactive. It has helped me refine two of the most essential skills in any field: communication and work ethic.
The collaborative, respectful environment at Lewis continues to push me to grow into a well-rounded finance professional who can adapt, lead, and thrive in diverse teams.
What Makes This Program Special
The best part of the MS Finance program is the hands-on learning approach and the supportive faculty who genuinely care about your success. At Lewis, you’re not just a number—you’re seen, heard, and guided throughout your journey.
